Many people know me as Liam Tachihara, but my real Japanese name is Masamune.
When my son was born, I chose Masamune as his middle name, too.
So when I discovered this officially licensed Date Masamune Monchhichi Collection Doll by Sekiguchi, it felt like more than just another collectible.
It felt like destiny.
The detailed samurai armor, the iconic crescent moon helmet, and even the included Certificate of Authenticity make this one of the most impressive Monchhichi releases I’ve ever seen.
After carefully filming every angle and finally placing him on my display shelf, I knew this would become one of the most meaningful pieces in my collection—not because it’s the rarest, but because it carries a personal connection that few collectibles ever could.
Sometimes a collectible finds you at exactly the right moment.
